Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is the name given to a system of natural healing, which evolved from the experience and dedication of Dr Mikao Usui (1865-1926), a Professor of Theology who lived in Japan in the last century. Dr Usui developed this healing system from ancient Buddhist teachings after many years of study, research and meditation. He spent the rest of his life practising and teaching Reiki.

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force Energy and refers to the energy that flows through all living things. It is a simple but powerful process that allows the channelled energy to flow through the Practitioner's hands to wherever it is needed in the body, balancing and strengthening our energy system. Reiki gently releases any blocks in our energy flow, often caused through stress and anxiety, which, if left unchecked, eventually produce physical symptoms. With its gentle nurturing energy process, Reiki helps us to maintain good health, balance and vitality. I completed training as a Reiki Master / Teacher in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system in 1999 and have taught many workshops.

Ascension Reiki

I am a Master and Teacher of ASCENSION REIKI & ANGELIC HOSTS OF LIGHT. This includes the original information of the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of healing and the original Atlantean information bringing forward forgotten knowledge through the Angelic Realms, building on the traditional Usui system with new healing techniques, knowledge and symbols.

When you learn Ascension Reiki you are introduced to the Healing Angels, the purest energy source, ensuring purity of healing, which if received with an open heart, will help you move from fear back to love in the Ascension process.

During the receiving of the Reiki attunements, you will be guided to your highest truth and there will be a letting go of non-serving energies and physical blocks which will assist you on your new journey. You will be given symbols as part of the attunements, which become embedded in our subconscious mind, and the energy of those symbols assist in breaking through fears ready to take you forward to Ascension and the New Golden Age. These symbols are added tools and techniques for our healing tool kit which accelerates our learning and our path to Ascension.

The basis of Reiki is regular self-treatment. It is a gift to be treasured and will heal you, others, and the planet.

Ascension Reiki is an incredibly powerful form of hands-on healing, clearing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual stresses and blockages, rebalancing the Chakras and empowering the body to heal itself. It is a Masters Reiki, a profound system for healing, which has been brought forth to assist mankind in the mastery of one's life. It is a gentle path to self-realisation and to finding lasting happiness. It is the bridge to spiritual and self-awareness, so gentle, yet so awesomely powerful. All you need is a willingness to grow and the courage to embrace change – for you will change. My own spiritual and personal growth has been immense. I never cease to be amazed by its capacity for healing, calming and energising.

A Reiki Treatment

To receive a Reiki treatment, the recipient simply lies on a couch, or if unable to lie down, receives treatment in a sitting position. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki passes through anything, even plaster casts. The Practitioner's hands are placed non-intrusively in a sequence of positions over the body. Reiki will provide what the recipient's body needs. Some recipients sense tingling and warmth, and some see colours or images, but most feel a sense of deep, inner peace, which can last indefinitely, especially if supported by positive lifestyle changes.

A full treatment usually lasts about an hour.

Reiki can heal at any level of being; physical mental, emotional or spiritual. In cases of terminal illness, there can be enhancement of the quality of life, giving a sense of peace and sometimes acceptance.

Reiki Practitioners and Masters can also send Distance Healing.

Reiki Training

Anyone can learn the Reiki System (see Workshops). Students need to be attuned to the energy by a Reiki Master. They are also taught a sequence of hand positions, followed by practical work under supervision.

The First and Second Degree levels are taught together over three days. This is Practitioner Level. The Masters level is also taught over three days. The Master/Teacher training is taught in a one-day workshop.

As the Reiki Association points out, there are now many variations of Reiki. Edna is a Reiki Master and Teacher in both Usui Shiki Ryoho and Ascension Reiki.
